Paul Norman – Captain of Parkfield’s under 16’s |
During the summer break of 2009, when most players and managers were enjoying there holidays, Paul Norman (our under 16 team captain) prepared a very well drafted letter explaining his and the clubs core beliefs and a brief history of both our team and the club.
Paul also explained some of the difficulties experienced being involved a youth football team, including the need for financial input to maintain match day kits and equipment. Despite the current economic difficulties, Paul closed a deal with Crown Honda in Bushey who are now the Under 16’s kit sponsor. In addition, Paul has also been in negotiation with another prestigious local company, who has now provided a complete set of training tops for the entire team for this coming season.
This intuition, commitment, assertiveness and maturity is very typical of Paul’s nature. He conducts himself very well and is passionate about everything he does. He is a credit to himself and his family. This is a fantastic success story and I only hope it inspires other young footballers to make a difference as Paul has done. Well done Paul and thank you, this is a huge achievement and you have done your team proud!

We had a double success at the RR recent tournament when the Parkfield U8s and U9s teams both won cups - http://www.timelessphotos.co.uk/group6731.html link for photos
What a fantastic start to the season - the afternoon just seemed to get better and better.
1st - Finishing top of our group without conceding a goal.
2nd - Beating Greenford Celtic in the semi-final 2 – 0
3rd - Victory in the final, deservedly beating the Ruislip Rangers A Team 1 -0
This was easily the best football the U9s have played - the passing, movement, work-rate and team work were all excellent. Hopefully the boys can keep up this level for the coming season.
Take a bow, Adam, Kirthan, Bjorgvin, Luka, Harri, Daniel G, Ben & Daniel T
Parkfield 2 – 0 Hayes Youth
Parkfield 0 – 0 Ruislip Rangers A
Parkfield 3 – 0 Ruislip Rangers C
Parkfield 5 – 0 Springfield (Springfield hadn’t conceded a goal until this point)
Semi – Final - Parkfield 2 – 0 Greenford Celtic
Final – Parkfield 1 – 0 Ruislip Rangers A
The goal scorers were; Dan T x5, Ben x3, Harri x3, Dan G x1 & 1 Own Goal
Big thanks must also go to the boys who played in goal without conceding a single goal,
Dan T, Adam, Luka but especially Bjorgvin who kept goal 3 times including the Semi & Final
Wow! What a weekend of football we had - the weather was great, the barbeque was in full swing (managed admirably by Steve with an amazing shift put in by Greg - watch out for the time and motion man Greg!) and Colin who had the electronic scoring system working a treat.
Parkfield teams had a very good weekend with many of our teams reaching the semi final stage and three teams getting to the finals.
The club would particularly like to thank all the parents who assisted with all the many tasks that we always have to perform over the two days (Bar-B-Q, tea bar etc) and those who helped us in our preparations on the Friday preceding the Tournament and in clearing away at the end of the Event. Grateful thanks also, as always, to the St John's Ambulance staff who look after us so well.
Alan Witham (Club Secretary) writes - 'I hope all our players and supporters, and particularly all our guests, enjoyed themselves - See you all next year'.

Two goals from Louie Covello on the 26th and 40th minute and one from substitute Louis Bircham on 33 minutes was enough for the champions to top the table on 45 points and finish 3 points clear of their main rivals Spartans. The U13's are also in the League Cup final this Sunday 3 May at North Greenford United FC, Berkerley Avenue, Greenford. Middlesex. UB6 - Kick off 12pm.
Parkfield U13A have won the first of the three trophies they are chasing this year - the team are currently top of the premier league and are already in the final of the league cup to be held in May. The winning goals were scored by Louis Bircham, Leon Parkes, and a brace from Louie Covello. The man of the match award went to Matthew Conlan.....well done to all the team and good luck for the rest of the season...more photos here
The Parkfield U18s won the league on Sunday 8 March when they drew 1-1 away to Hendon FC. This was a fantastic achievement and so well done to them and their manager Richard!
In the younger age groups the Parkfield U13A team reached two finals. In the county cup final they meet Park View rangers at Brook House FC on Sunday 22nd march ko 11am and in the league cup final they meet St Josephs Youth FC at North Greenford Utd FC (date to be confirmed).
If you would like to come along and support the team on either day you are most welcome.
The club is looking for some donations of tools and maintenance equipment to help with the upkeep of the grounds. If you have any unwanted stuff we are interested! Wheel barrows, brushes, spades, forks, buckets that kind of thing. Bring it along on a match day preferably and leave it by or in the club house. If you are unsure the item will be of use email alanwitham49@hotmail.com (no rubbish please).
On 15 September 2008 local footballers from Harrow along with Premier League referee David Elleray and Middlesex FA Chief Executive Peter Claytin met in Hatch End to highlight the FA's new Respect campaign .... read more
The club would like to investigate expanding the kitchen and bar area to provide more facilities on match days. To get this moving the committee would be interested to talk to any architects / designers or trades people who would be able to assist with the initial plans for the work. If anyone thinks they may be able to assist, or knows someone who can, then please contact Harry, Alan or any of the executive committee (see contact us on the menu on the left).
Ex Parkfield junior Jason Roberts, who is currently playing for Blackburn Rovers, has kindly donated a framed signed shirt to the club. This photo shows a group of Parkfield boys and coaches with the shirt...thank you Jason! (More info on Jason Roberts)

Further to the report on this website that we have been asked to try a new spectator initiative your intrepid reporter (i.e. webmaster) has an update. I was present on one wet and wild day pitchside to witness the boundary posts and police incident style tape being erected alongside the pitch - the idea being that this would keep spectators and coaches away from the action areas - so helping the players and referee.
Unfortunately it was so windy the tape pulled the posts over and some posts (plastic) started to break - so the trial had to be abandoned. We of course continue to have a rope along the car park pitch which is made of sterner stuff.
We will let you know of any further updates and technological advances (like using a rope rather than thick tape!) when we get them. (Ed)
